New Beginnings
Our shop closes, another creative door opens
Four years and two days ago, I launched Confidants. To celebrate, I curated a pop-up & house party in the mission with 15+ brands. People showed up!! We drank rosé! It was the start of something fun and fulfilling and hard and electric ⚡️
I still have the first order printed and stored away in a folder (thanks @fennyphoto , you beat my mom to it.) That first holiday, I shipped online orders from a 250 sqft space in the belly of the Tenderloin thanks to @katie.gong - that feels like an actual lifetime ago.
What a thrill to put a slice of my dream out into the world. Ive worked alongside generous creatives who shaped this vision @ashleybatz, @carlym.ller, @bixe.mx, @isabellapreisz, along with countless friends who stepped in as models, producers, event managers, advisors, cheerleaders, customers. My small dream has connected me to so many- I’m grateful.
I’ve had the privilege to work with 150+ independent brands from all over the world. Confidants felt like it was just blossoming in 2019… as I held on through 2020 and beyond, it’s only now (after the chaos) that I realize this shop is just a sliver of the dream I hope to build. It’s time for a change. How refreshing to say that out loud!
So with months of reflection, I’m closing the shop to focus on a new direction. Even more exciting, Katie Parish will be co-creating Confidants next experiment with me!
